The opening meeting of the “Determination of National Environmental Label Criteria for Personal Care and Cosmetic Products Project”, which was initiated with the cooperation of our Ministry and Boğaziçi University in order to develop the Turkish Environmental Label System, was held online on 10.07.2020. Representatives from public institutions/organizations, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector participated in the meeting.
Within the scope of the project, in line with ISO 14024: Type 1 Environmental Labeling and ISO 14040/44: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) standards, the personal care and cosmetic product group (solid soap, liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel, hand and body cream, hair cream, shaving soap and shaving foam, etc.) will be determined, and an application guide will be prepared in accordance with the determined criteria. Within the scope of the project, survey studies with the sector, pilot plant inspections, environmental label training, and technical article preparation activities will be carried out.
