The opening meeting of the "Dissemination and Strengthening Project of the Turkish Environmental Label System (TÇES)", financed by the World Bank, of which the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change is the main beneficiary, was held in Ankara on July 10, 2023, with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, representatives of the World Bank and stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
Within the scope of the project, environmental label criteria will be determined in the paint-varnish and bathroom fixtures product groups and the Turkish Environmental Label System (TCES) will be disseminated and further strengthened.
The meeting started with the opening speech of Ms. Mehrali ECER, General Manager of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit and Inspection, and continued with the speeches of Ms. Sibel GÜLEN and Mr. Sameer AKBAR, representing the World Bank Group. Following the presentation of Mr. Serkan ATAY, Environmental Management System and Environmental Label Branch Manager, about the Turkish Environmental Label System, the meeting was attended by project key expert, Global Ecolabelling Network Board Member and Chairman of the Communication Subcommittee, Mr. Yulia GRACHEVA and project key expert, Dr. It ended with Hüdai KARA's presentations and the question-answer session.
